Once upon a time there was a colourful planet
where the stars shone in every colour.
Round and gentle like the earth, carpeted in fields of felt
and in mountains of cashmere,
you could walk along thousands of rainbows and
bathe in an ocean of colour.
It was all smiles, which is why we call it
MUSKHANE, “smile” in Nepali.
It’s here that agile and lively hands worked, which
never ceased to create and give life.
They were called “fairy fingers”.
These hands, of which there were hundreds, were made
from a wonderful combination of flesh and gold.
Here all sorts could be found: creatives, logicians,
designers, visionaries, workers,
Watched from above, they resembled a flight of butterflies
fluttering their wings,
the cries and laughs could be heard from little
hands who would play at their sides.
Because the big hands didn’t forget to caress
and to love the little ones.
They formed a large tribe where each had their place
and this planet was a cocoon which embraced their
joie de vivre.
They were thankful for this generous nature,
and in symbiosis, they transformed the
natural materials into harmonious décor.
This talent? They had inherited it from their elders.
Everything that left their hands of gold was beautiful
And from their hands of flesh, they transmitted a little
of their warmth.
Attentive to the well-being of each of them, they invented
a daily rhythm of sweetness and of harmony:
clothes of cashmere to warm their hearts;
soft flooring and cushions of felt to rest
Happiness was their way of living.
However, their greatest gift was the colours…
Their virtues and their values, they knew them by heart.
And through mixing the colours, myriads of rainbows
sprung as far as the eye could see.
And then one day, one rainbow grew so so much,
illuminating with colour the night and space, it made a huge
bridge that reached the earth.
With his foot, they touched…
It was so beautiful, that all the men, women and
children of the earth
for the first time started to smile… ALL AT ONCE.
Enveloped by sweetness, softness, and serenity,
they were and are forever affected by the grace… of
